One thing I love around our old farmhouse is all of my plants. And let’s just say I don’t have a green thumb, but we make it work. I feel like planters and plants add life to a space and are a must have. I’ve never been a fan of faux flowers and plants although I will decorate with the occasional faux plant. So today I thought it’d be a good idea to share with you all just how easy it is to create these planters, especially with items from around your house.
I came across the cutest little plants while grocery shopping in Meijer. They were only $1.99 a piece and they had quite the variety. They were originally $2.99 a piece but were on sale. I knew I had this galvanized metal trough laying around my house that I hadn’t found a use for yet. I chose four to fill the trough.
STEP 1: Gather Your Materials
Materials Include:
Plants (4 Plants $1.99ea.=$7.96)
Planter/Container (Already had)
Soil (Optional)
STEP 2: Remove Plants from Container and Break Roots Up
It should be rather easy to slide your plant out of the containers they come in. Once you do this, hold your plant over it’s new planter/container and start breaking the roots up so that they’re no longer in the shape of the old container. This helps your plant by allowing it to not be root bound and will help stimulate growth in its new location.
STEP 3: Place Plants In Container
Optional: If you have extra room, fill in with more potting soil.

I love the Galvanized metal trough planter. Small scale is being featured which is perfectly an awesome idea to place it on top of any blank tables and even put it inside the room to add green and life. Thank you for sharing.
