I stopped into one of my local antique stores (shocker, right?) and found this cute little red vintage stool for $9! Red wasn't going to fit in my house but something this small is easy to paint and I can't wait to show you the transformation!
Y'all know I love my Country Chic Paint and of course I used it on this project. I used Sage Advice which is a very pretty sage green and perfect for spring time!
First, let's take a look at the before!
It was cute but a very deep red and just wasn't going to match anything.
The materials you'll need are:

Antiquing Wax
Wax Brush
Step One: Coat One
After you've wiped your piece clean, start by applying your first coat of paint. This paint glides on easily and shows no brush strokes. You don't have to be a pro to be able to use it!
On almost all pieces, I can get away with two coats of paint.
Step Two: Second Coat
Once your first coat has dried, go ahead and apply a second coat. I let mine dry about a half hour before applying the second coat. This paint dries super fast and is safe for kids!
Step Three: Antiquing Wax
Once my second coat of paint had dried, I wanted to age the stool a bit and antique wax it. Antique wax is brown and will give your piece an antiqued look if used effectively.
I lightly dipped my wax brush in the antiquing wax and started applying it vigorously to all edges and corners and lightly to the rest of the piece. Antique wax is difficult to remove once you've applied, so it's better to apply it lighter and add more than to immediately start with a thick coat. If you do accidentally apply to much, you can try using some clear wax to neutralize it or go ahead and add some more paint to that area and start again.
And for the after! So much better, don't you think?
I had this vintage stool completely done within an hour and up in her bedroom my bed time. It pairs perfectly in her vintage girls room!
