Two homecoming bouquets out the door this morning

Two homecoming bouquets out the door this morning as well as two buckets of dahlias.
Likely my last custom orders of the year and wow, what a rush. I had no clue what this year held in store for us, but what I do know is, our flowers ended up in hundreds of homes and our property and garden was shared with hundreds of people. That’s pretty cool if you ask me.
Welcome fall. I’ve missed you.

As I stand here and sip my coffee, watching the twins nap and the toddlers play while my oldest starts some schoolwork. Breakfast burritos just came out of the oven while fresh eggs were already devoured. That’s my kind of homemade slow morning before our day even begins.

Absolutely savoring these last few days of garden season + summer.
My Emory Paul dahlia finally bloomed and wow, she is beautiful. Kept these two for myself and I intend to hang and dry them in the cellar.

Ryan Lee started sewing!!
Two days of learning the basics and sewing up doll blankets and pillows for her dollhouse. Then we moved on to something tangible. She chose a tote bag and picked an old quilt and her strawberry fabric from my stash.
I did assist in cutting so she had straight lines to sew from. She handled all the stitching and topstitch. I just had her tell me when she was done with the next step, and then I’d come back and tell her what to do next. It was very hands off and I was able to clean while she did so.
She said sewing is relaxing. I beg to differ because I often want to throw my machine from the second story. But I’m one proud mama!!

A little bit of life lately.
Photo 1: One of my besties made me this crocheted pie hot pad. She brought over the most beautiful handmade gifts for my birthday and then surprised me with this which was supposed to be for Christmas but she’s remarkably bad with surprises!
Photo 2: Marinara day. Hubby is still wondering how he got stuck with the job of saucing. Let’s just say I am super woman at getting out of tasks I don’t like. So instead I sewed some canning jar hot pads for long canning days.
Photo 3: Huddy finds our sand box. He’s an eloper so this was his first time free outside of the garden. He spent HOURS in the sand box pouring sand over his head. A true sensory seeker.
Photo 4: One of our very last harvest wagon(s). I thought we were done with pumpkins, and then I found more. Collected dahlia and zinnia seeds, cut broomcorn and collected flowers before the frost takes them from us.
Photo 5: The moving rock my husband found at the burn pile. The tiniest wood turtle.
Photo 6: Our fall stoop complete with pumpkins + gourds we grew ourselves. And I still have 1.5 wagons of pumpkins to unload here.
Photo 7: Photo proof of my husbands hand blending the sauce 😅 I really did make him do it all, however I did clean the rims with vinegar lol
Photo 8: My oldest loving on the baby of the family. Our little Sandy cheeks.
Photo 9: A floral pumpkin workshop we created in our garden. So many gorgeous pumpkins out there garden gate that day.
Photo 10: North Georgia Candy Roaster Squash seeds being washed and dried for next year and for the farm stand.
Photo 10: Coffee. My lifeline. And the two pottery pieces I’ve made recently. Veggie themed of course.
Photo 11: Huddy eloping from the garden 🫣 he was heading for his favorite; the swings.
Photo 12: Little man hands. When he was born, I was shocked at how long his fingers and toes were. He’s on trend to be a massive boy. Slender but huge 🫠 Nathan came home yesterday and told him the lady in the store made him very confused on his age. I reassured him, he turns 2 this Saturday and he just looks big to outsiders.
Photo 13: Another recent harvest. I’m going to miss these once frost hits.
