When I was pregnant, we started renovation on the nursery. But we soon realized we had too much going on, and that with prices of lumber going up, it was better to just wait. Sure, we could use one of the upstairs bedrooms, but I knew with Ryan, we had her in our bedroom until she was six months old.
So I set to work creating a nursery nook in our master bedroom! After all, she’d spend most of her time in here with us so it only made sense.

The Crib
We obviously needed a place for baby girl to sleep. We opted for the Stokke mini crib which is an expandable crib. But it comes in the small size and on wheels, so it was the perfect option for our master bedroom. And with the cutest canopy ever!!
When baby girl moves to her nursery, this will come with and we’ll buy the expansion kit that we need so it can grow with her. I can wheel this around the room or house and it tucks perfectly into a corner!

What to use for storage?
The next thing I had to tackle was how was I going to store Izzy’s things?! I needed her clothes and accessories close. We have several vintage cabinets in here that were simply used for decor. So I cleaned them out and before she was born, organized everything we would need right away, and boxed up the rest. I made sure to label the boxes so I can just pull them out as she grows and grab what I need!
I also had this super cute vintage suit hangar I had picked up. It was the perfect stand for hanging all of her swaddles on and her cloth bibs. Then I can just grab those as I need, and they’re super cute so no need to hide them away! We prefer the muslin swaddles and I found a seller on Amazon who sells them at a very reasonable price. You can purchase the muslin swaddles here.
The vintage rack behind the crib was already there as well and I use that for her diaper bag, towels, headbands, etc. Anything I might need to grab super quick!
Crib Mobile
The crib didn’t come with a mobile on it so we bought one we could add. This one is from Pottery barn and just clamps onto the side of the crib. We went with the felt rose mobile and it plays music too!

It has truly been amazing having baby girl in our room, and lets be real. She would have been in here with or without a nursery! I hope this posts helps you realize how little you actually need to create a nursery nook in your bedroom!
