I have such a simple and easy DIY Valentine's Day project to share with you all today! I made this using items we already had on hand, well Ryan's items mostly, oops.
All you'll need is:
Kraft Paper (cut to the length of a table runner)
Acrylic Paint
Step One
Lay your kraft paper out on your table and cut it to length. I wanted mine to trail the floor, so I cut my kraft paper pretty long.

Step Two
Choose your paint colors. Since my kitchen and breakfast nook do not match well with pink, I chose nontraditional colors. I opted for a white and dark green paint and incorporated them both into this Valentine's Day project!

Step Three
Start by lightly dipping your paint brush in your first color, and painting an x onto your kraft paper. Use light brush strokes, and remember this is not supposed to look perfect.

Step Four
Then using the same technique, drawn an O next to your X.

Step Five
If you're using two colors, repeat the X & O in your other color. Repeat this pattern until you've covered your entire kraft paper.

Let your paint dry, and then get to styling your table! This table runner turned out so darn cute and was the perfect addition for Valentine's decor! I really don't like to spend much money for smaller holidays, so anything I can make affordable or cheap is where it's at! Tag me on Instagram at @twopawsfarmhouse if you try this DIY!

To bring a little bit more Valentine's touch to this tablescape, I added some adorable red boots that double as a planter for my succulents. I picked these up last weekend while we were vacationing up north for just $8!

I also had some red candles on hand from Christmas that I pulled back out for Valentine's Day decor. I just swapped out my white candles, and used these brass candlesticks for table decor.
I also always use random vintage silverware, and an assortment of my white dishes to decorate the table. This way they're out, and we can use them if needed, yet they double as decor.
