With Christmas over, it was time to give my house a bit of an overhaul, and the laundry room was first. This is always the season I struggle the most with decor wise. It’s not Christmas, it’s definitely not spring, but it still doesn’t feel like winter here. So I never really know what elements to bring in to style with.
I decided to start with a fresh new rug in this space. I had honestly just bought one for in here but it was too small, and the pattern wasn’t working. I chose to try the Sima Sage rug from Ruggable. The first reason being these are machine washable rugs. The top pattern layer pulls apart from the pad underneath so you can just throw it in your washer and dryer. And the first day I laid down my new Ruggable, my cat peed on it three times. I wasn’t really expecting to wash it so soon, but it washed and dryed perfectly, like new!
I also took a quick trip to a local antique store to pick up a few fresh new pieces for in here. I found this beautiful vintage mirror and old wicker laundry basket. Perfect for a laundry room refresh! I also had found that old tool apron in the basement, and hung it up on the mirror.
Being stuck between seasons and unsure what direction to go in, I opted to keep it simple in here with just a few key vintage pieces. I really feel like this rug was the perfect addition, as it just tied all of my greens together, and receives all of the attention!
I also brought in both my old sewing drawers, and stacked them to create one tall storage drawer. These are so nice for storing my lint roller, dryer sheets, and laundry knick knacks in!
