I have been obsessed with Montessori style toys for Izzy this time around. I’ll be honest, we bought the bright light up toys and then started to introduce developmental toys and she only wanted the Montessori style toys. So I’ve only been purchasing those types from here on our and there are so many cute options. I’ve gotten about half of them from Love Every and the other half from Amazon. Amazon is much more affordable and she loves their toys just as much.
If you’re wondering why Montessori toys, I’ll tell you why. They offer a variety of textures and colours for exploratory play, help develop fine motor skills, and promote concentration and focused attention. You’re fostering independence through play. It’s not that we never do TV time. We do. But most of the day this is what our one year old is busy with. And even her 7 year old sister enjoys playing with her toys together.

First up is this little activity center on wheels. It has so many activities. It is a shape sorter, with multiple uses from using the rabbit to catch the worms, or placing the carrot in the right hole. The inside serves as a storage cart for all the pieces. Probably her most played with toy right now and the one that comes everywhere with us. The top easily comes on and off which of course she’s figured out. But I love that these are all wooden pieces and have some cute little fruit too!

The worms are magnetic and you can use the wooden rabbit with a magnet in the bottom to fish them out. Such a cute idea and it keeps her busy forever. Also a great way to eventually teach them colors and shapes.

Next up is this wooden baby walker which doubles as an activity center. Izzy got this for her birthday and it was perfect timing. She’s just started to stand and wants to furniture surf everywhere, so she loves using this to stand up with. It even has a shape sorter and storage cart on the back of it so she can cart her toys along with her.
The mirror is probably her favorite part about it. The girl loves to look at herself and cheeses every time she finds herself staring back! It’s so funny! This was one of the more adorable ones my mom and I could find and it seems like it will stand the test of time. It did require quite a bit of assembly but came with the allen tool so you’ll only need a screwdriver for a few screws.
