I finally got around to getting all my plants and flowers planted for the patio so I'm sharing my garden trellis today! Trellises are such a creative way to display flowers on your patio, and there is so many vining plants you can add to climb these structures! We've had this trellis for about two years and I did decide to give it a spray paint job of my own! But today I'm sharing how I planted it for this summer and a few garden trellises that you can purchase to create your own!
In the past, i've always planted Mandevilla plants on my trellises. They bloom large gorgeous flowers and grow like crazy! But this year I decided to keep it simple with some vinca vines and dipladenia which is in the Mandevilla family! Vinca vines grow super long so i knew they would be the perfect addition for this trellis. And as they grow, I can simply wind their vines throughout the trellis, filling it up.
I used Miracle Grow soil from my local grocery store and filled the base up with this first. Then simply dug a hole and placed my plants inside. I then took my vinca vine, and wove it up through the trellis, making sure to spread it out so that it had time to grow and fill it in!
I shared some close up photos of my garden trellis and how it turned out! Don't let the small plants fool you. With plenty of sun and water, these will take off in no time, filling up this trellis!
I've also linked a variety of trellises down below that you can shop and order for free delivery from Amazon! Simply click on the photos to shop them!
