I had the itch to switch and next on the list was my daughters room. She’s growing into a feisty toddler and her “baby” room just didn’t work anymore. We got rid of all the bright pinks and kid-like decor and in came a few vintage finds. Safe to say she loves it and I’m just as excited as her to share it with you today!
The first thing we did was move her bed out from the middle of the room to make room for all that playing space! It fit perfectly in this nook in the corner and I was able to hang her canopy up higher due to there being no angle in the ceiling over here!
I ordered those dear floral prints from my friend Jordan over at @thechippyvintagehippie and they were perfect for over her bed! We are planning to add a wall sconce over them in the near future, I just haven’t found the perfect one yet.
I also found that adorable stool at a local antique shop for $9! It was red and needed a bit of a facelift which I will blog all about soon. I painted it a sage green color and gave it some antiquing wax to fit the vintage vibe I was going for in here.
We created a little reading nook on the wall next to her bed because this kid LOVES books! That floor pillow I found this winter at Home Goods make the perfect place for her to lounge and read.
I also found this adorable wicker laundry basket for $15 at the local antique shop too and knew it would help bring out the wood accents in this room. It’s perfect for storing extra blankets in for the cold winters here in Michigan.
The vintage screen was also a recent pick at an antique store and I layered it behind her bed with an antique mirror we had laying around.
She also has a hammock swing we’ll be hanging up in here this week as well and then I’ll be able to share that corner of her room with you!
Ryan was so excited to sleep in her bed in it’s newfound space and had so much fun playing in all the open space up here! I’m so happy this room meshes with the rest of the house now and that we have one happy little girl!
What A Great Job!!!! I Love It. Ann
